We form partnerships with Kenyan communities living in arid and semi-arid lands to establish an integrated “ecosystem” of life-sustaining services for the very young, so that they and their families can thrive, even in remote settings.
Why give?
Successful early childhood development requires a kind of “ecosystem of services” in order to be effective. This is especially so with children living in arid and semi-arid regions of Kenya who are often exceptionally marginalized as a result of multidimensional poverty. Africa Exchange works with these communities to create integrated child development centers that address holistically the needs of pre-school children including age-appropriate education, WASH, malaria prevention, nutrition and protection of the natural environment – all of which are critical for child survival and form the basis for future thriving.
