Developments/Updates:

  • May 2006 - Visiting pastor team with Pat Anderson, pledge borehole
  • Oct. 2006 - Members of Knollwood Baptist Church, Kenya Health Partnership, conduct clinics for children and the surrounding community.

  • June 2007 - Mercer University Students use ICDC as base for net distributions throughout the Il'Chamus region and construction of traditional cooking hut plus pit latrines
  • September 2007 - Visit by members of Hopewell Baptist Church, Va., for the purpose of working with children
  • April 2008 - Borehole installed complete with Afridev hand pump
  • April 2008 - Future farm area fence complete
  • May 2008 - Fluoride filter installed for children
  • November 2008 - New water system (finances provided by Texas Baptist World Hunger fund) installed including solar powered borehole pump, 4 solar panels, elevated tank and tower, de-fluoridation filter and watering point
  • November 2008 - Dedication of new water system with community sensitzation by Catholic Diocese of Nakuru team on negative effects of fluoride.

 

 

  • January 2009 - Rosslyn Academy Culural Field Studies team installs swingset at Loongeiwuan
  • January 2009 - Bee Keeping is introduced following seminar by African Bee Keepers Ltd.  Proceeds of honey sales will generate income for the center.

  • March 2009 - Auburn University Students help construct a honey production and supplies hut during their Spring Break
